Elie Lauter
Elie is is the Founding Executive Director of The Center and is an experienced non-profit executive and dedicated community-builder, with a deep commitment to creating a myriad of pathways for Jewish exploration. She was the former Executive Director and Director of Operations at The Kitchen, a start-up and mission-driven Jewish community in San Francisco. Prior to The Center, Elie was the Executive Director of Kivunim, a program for young adults and teachers focused on rigorous study, purposeful international travel, and the promotion of cross-cultural dialogue. Elie has previously served as the Assistant Director of Contemporary Jewish Life at the American Jewish Committee and as a Development Associate for the New Israel Fund. She graduated from the University of California, Berkeley with a B.A. in Middle Eastern Studies and Arabic. Elie is a recipient of the New Israel Fund’s Guardian of Democracy Award.
